Ms. Maheu has been a trusted advocate since earning her Juris Doctorate with honors from Ventura College of Law in 2008. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, where she graduated with honors.
After beginning her legal career at our firm, she practiced for 15 years in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, and, most significantly, family law. Her litigation experience spans a wide range of matters, and she is known for her strong attention to detail and commitment to client advocacy.
Most recently, Ms. Maheu served as a Legal Research Attorney for the Superior Court of California, County of Ventura. There, she worked on everything from name changes and Pro Hac Vice applications to complex civil motions such as summary judgment, anti-SLAPP motions, and discovery disputes. That experience provided valuable insight into the challenges faced by judicial officers and exposed her to a broad range of litigation strategies and case types. Above all, it reinforced the importance of clarity and conciseness when presenting matters to the court, and the importance of keeping cases moving forward.
As a litigation attorney, Ms. Maheu brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to every case. In family law, where issues are often complex and emotionally charged, she focuses on details that may often be overlooked. Clients can count on her for strong advocacy and insight.
Now back at PGLaw, Kathleen continues to represent clients with the same precision, compassion, and dedication that have defined her career.
Outside of work, she enjoys music, swimming, and spending time with her family.
