Kathleen Maheu

Location: Ventura

Kathleen Maheu (formerly Kathleen Crouch) practices family law for the firm. She is in her twelfth year of practice and is very experienced dealing with the emotionally charged issues in divorce proceedings, paternity actions, custody disputes, and child and spousal support issues. She has an extensive background in handling domestic violence and civil harassment restraining orders.

She understands that going to court can be intimidating and aims to help her clients get through the process with minimal impact–emotionally and financially. In some cases, going to court can be completely avoided through effective negotiation and cooperation with the other party or their attorney. When a stronger approach is necessary, she and the rest of the Pachowicz | Goldenring team, are fully prepared to zealously and aggressively advance your case in the courtroom.

Ms. Maheu has handled many cases where family law issues intersect with criminal prosecutions. These situations typically involve claims of domestic violence which lead to criminal charges and possible jail time. These cases often coincide with litigation in family court for domestic violence restraining orders, requests for emergency custody orders, and when the parties are married, divorce proceedings. Ms. Maheu and the firm’s other attorneys can handle all aspects of these multi-scenario cases. Ms. Maheu stays current with new legislation and court decisions affecting family law clients through her daily family law practice and through ongoing attendance at a variety of continuing legal education conferences and seminars. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Ventura College of Law, where she graduated in 2008 with honors.

Outside of the office, Ms. Maheu is happily married, plays guitar, and enjoys gardening and woodworking
